Brazilian Joyce Silva was elected MVP of Final Four Cup

LIMA, Peru, September 13, 2009 – Brazilian attacker Joyce Silva was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the II Final Four Women’s Volleyball Cup while Dominican libero Brenda Castillo of Dominican Republic took home three plaques as the best defensive player of the competition.

 

Silva enjoyed an outstanding tournament leading her squad to an unbeaten record and second title in as many years of the Final Four Cup.

 

Castillo once again displayed her great caliber as defensive specialist as she was awarded as best receiver, best digger and best libero.

 

Three other Brazilians received individual awards during the closing ceremony of the tournament presided over by Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, First Executive Vice President of FIVB and President of NORCECA Confederation.

 

Regiane Bidias was the best attacker, Adenizia Silva won the award as best server and Ana Takagi received the recognition as best setter.

 

Angela Pressey and Christa Harmotto of USA were elected as best scorer and best blocker respectively.
